New Year’s Eve closes out 2023 and falls on a Sunday this year. Sun Wah BBQ will maintain normal business hours where our carry out counter opens at 9:00am and dining room starts service at 10:30am. Final seating will be at 8:30pm with the kitchen closing promptly in that time. We’d like to thank our all our devoted patrons for helping to make Sun Wah BBQ a Chicago mainstay.

Happy Year of the Rabbit! One of the most anticipated Sun Wah BBQ events to celebrate each Chinese New Year has been our multi-course prix-fixe dining event. This event took place Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28. Thanks to all who attended! As always, refer to our Event Schedule page for the latest posts on upcoming events like this.

For the final Saturday of 2022, Sun Wah BBQ will maintain normal business hours starting with our carry out counter opening at 9:00am and dining room service opening at 10:30am. Kitchen closes at 8:30pm to dine-in and carry out orders. As of a week out, a limited number of reservations are still available for dinner service.

Sun Wah BBQ will also observe normal business hours for New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2023.

Saturday October 15 is the day to show some extra love to your sweetie. What better way than to share a Beijing Duck Dinner at Sun Wah BBQ? Reservations are likely to be fully booked, but if you’re relegated to the Walk-in waitlist, there’s always the opportunity to treat your sweetie to a Ginger Cosmo or Scorpion cocktail at our waiting bar.

For Friday December 31, 2021 Sun Wah BBQ will keep its regular business hours opening at 9;00am and ending for the year with final seating at 8:30pm.

New Years Day 2022 will also see normal business hours. It’s likely all reservations will be claimed well in advance for these days. Any further seating opportunities will be based on a Walk-In basis.

Saturday is designated to appreciate the off-the-chart tastiness that is a Hong Kong style roasted piglet. It’s an impressive featured centerpiece of a major celebration or just among a large dinner party of discerning foodies.
