Dining room service begins at 10:00am with final seating at 4:30pm. Advance reservation is always recommended as walk-in wait times may start tickling the 2-hour mark — or not available at all if it shoots beyond the 4:30pm final seating. Walk-in carry out orders may also take considerably longer to fulfill on this busy day.
Tuesday is not just Election Day in the USA, it’s also the designated day to celebrate the convenience of carrying-out a meal. This is certainly a practice observed by Sun Wah BBQ patrons from our very start.

Sunday October 6 this year marks National Noodle Day. Sun Wah BBQ’s menu covers the gamut of noodles served throughout Hong Kong and southern China. Most of our noodle varieties can be prepared in a soup, lo mein, or stir fry form. The wide scale of toppings and add-ins can create a staggering number of noodle dish variations.
Celebrating National Fried Rice Day is easy with Sun Wah BBQ’s menu of all the fried rice varieties.
On Wednesday, August 7, Sun Wah BBQ will be closed for morning and noon service. The restaurant opens at 3:30pm for dine-in and carryout service. Our last seating is at 8:30pm. Please note we are closed on our usual off-day Thursday.
No better time to celebrate International Beer Day than during the swelter in the middle of Summer! Sun Wah BBQ’s selection of chilled beers like Tsing Tao, Chang and Kirin steps up to quench parched patrons.
On Friday, July 26, Sun Wah BBQ will be closed during the morning and will reopen at 1:30pm. The City of Chicago will be conducting work on their water system for the region.
Update: The City’s scheduled time? Bogus. Front curb still dug up and the restaurant is without water as of 4:00pm. Sun Wah BBQ will offer limited carry-out for the time being. Our dining room has to remain closed until further notice.
Updated Update: As of 5:00pm, the City crew has buttoned up the curb and water has been restored. Sun Wah BBQ is open again.
