Jan 18, 2023 – National Peking Duck Day

Sun Wah BBQ Table Side Carving

Sun Wah BBQ is the place to be on Wednesday, January 18 to observe National Peking Duck Day. From day one, we’ve served this up properly starting with an initial table side carving of the outer portion. Soft, pillowy steamed bao arrives with garnishes and our house made hoisin sauce. The carcass returns to the kitchen where any remaining meat is transformed into a duck fried rice and bones rendered into a duck broth soup. Our Beijing Duck Dinner is what keeps patrons packing the reservation bookings.

Dec 31, 2022 – New Years Eve

For the final Saturday of 2022, Sun Wah BBQ will maintain normal business hours starting with our carry out counter opening at 9:00am and dining room service opening at 10:30am. Kitchen closes at 8:30pm to dine-in and carry out orders. As of a week out, a limited number of reservations are still available for dinner service.

Sun Wah BBQ will also observe normal business hours for New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2023.

Christmas 2022 – Hours

Many Sun Wah BBQ patrons have called well enough in advance where reservations for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are now fully booked. Any further dine-in possibilities will be on a Walk-In waitlist basis. The restaurant continues with normal business hours for Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24, 2022.

For Christmas Day Sunday, December 25, 2022 Sun Wah BBQ opens at 8:30am to start carry-out service. Dining room opens at 10:30am to dine-in patrons. Final seating for the dining room is at 4:30pm. Carry outs halt at 5pm.

November 24, 2022 – Thanksgiving Hours

Sun Wah BBQ will have limited hours for Thanksgiving Thursday in 2022. Carry-out counter will be open starting at 9:00am. Dining room service begins at 10:00am with final seating at 4:30pm. This year more than ever, an advance reservation will be highly recommended as walk-in wait times may start tickling the 2-hour mark — or not available at all if it shoots beyond the 4:30pm final seating. Walk-in carry out orders may also take considerably longer to fulfill on this busy day.

Nov 5, 2022 – National Take-Out Day

Carry-out, Take-out, or Pick-up. However way you refer to it, Saturday recognizes the restaurant component that permits flexibility in everyday life. Sun Wah BBQ’s carry out counter is the first thing to open in the morning and the last to close at night. Many thanks to our wonderful patrons for keeping this institution running strong since 1985!

Oct 15, 2022 – Sweetest Day

Saturday October 15 is the day to show some extra love to your sweetie. What better way than to share a Beijing Duck Dinner at Sun Wah BBQ? Reservations are likely to be fully booked, but if you’re relegated to the Walk-in waitlist, there’s always the opportunity to treat your sweetie to a Ginger Cosmo or Scorpion cocktail at our waiting bar.

Sept 20, 2022 – National Fried Rice Day

Looking for the place to get your fried rice fix satiated? Sun Wah BBQ is here for you. Our BBQ Pork Fried Rice has Char Siu sourced directly from our in-house roasting chambers. Looking for a poultry alternative to the Chicken Fried Rice? Try our Duck Fried Rice. Whatever your palate, there’s a variation to fit: Beef Fried Rice, Vegetable Fried Rice and the umami chart-topper Salt Fish Fried Rice. Tuesday, September 20 is the nation-wide day of recognition, but with such an abundance of choices why not dedicate the month to enjoying all of it?

Sept 5, 2022 – Open Labor Day

Sun Wah BBQ will be open within its normal business hours on Monday, September 5, 2022. Carry out is available starting at 9:00am. Dining room is open at 10:30am. The restaurant closes for staff lunch between 2:00-2:40pm. Our kitchens close at 8:30pm.
