Sun Wah BBQ’s BYO Turkey event has concluded! Many thanks to those who participated. The restaurant roasted over 120 turkeys and received press from the New York Times.
Turkeys will be prepped and roasted in a manner similar to our Hong Kong Style Roast Ducks with additional aromatics like ginger, shallots, and cilantro. A portion of gravy from the roasted drippings accompany each bird. Roasted Turkeys are sent out whole for you to carve at home. This event does not provide nor offers carving services.
The restaurant will be open Thanksgiving November 28 with designated pick-up times starting at 9:00am and ending at 5:30pm. As in previous Thanksgivings, patrons will be packing our dining space, bar and carry-out counter until the restaurant’s early close at 5pm. Please be amenable to the possibility that your bird may be off-schedule by as much as 90 minutes on this hectic day.
How do I submit my own Turkey?
If your Turkey is frozen, bring it into the restaurant BEFORE Monday November 25. Last-minute procrastinators will have until 3pm that day. Ask for Laura, Kelly, Melissa or Mike. Earliest submitted birds will have a the best choice of time slots for Thursday’s pick-up. Cost for the BYO service will be $2.75 per pound (pre-cooking weight). A $15 deposit will be collected at time of drop-off payable by cash, VISA or MasterCard.
If your refrigerated Turkey is thoroughly thawed, it can be brought in as late as Tuesday, November 26 by no latter than 3pm. Same process and charges as described above.
I’d rather just buy a completed Turkey
Sun Wah BBQ offers a limited number of (never frozen) fresh-from-the-farm Turkeys, cooked and ready-to-go for Thursday, November 28. These birds are Halal certified and are available in two general sizes; 12-15lb Turkeys and 18-20lb Turkeys. Cost for Sun Wah supplied Turkeys is at $5.50 per pound. Reserve yours by phoning during business hours or stopping by in person to place a $15 deposit before all Turkeys are claimed for. Ask for Laura, Kelly, Melissa or Mike. Only cash, VISA or MasterCard are accepted.
